A Most Fantastic Joke

Two electrons were sitting on a bench when a third one comes up and asks them,
"Hey guys, do you mind if I sit with you?"
They look at him in disgust before one turns to him and says with scathing,
"What do we look like? Bosons?"

I totally, absolutly, completely and utterly, without a doubt did NOT set fire to the kitchen an hour before our house inspection.

Ok, well maybe just a little bit.

The Flaming Lips

  • Music: The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots
I have just been to see the Flaming Lips in concert up in London.  Bloody fantastic, even though it has left me feeling slightly sick  (excesive strobe lighting + screaming woman behind me = baaaaaaaaaaaad).  Balloons make everything better and there were GIANT ones. And super heros. And alien people. And Santas.  And Japanese game shows involving screaming women with porkchops strapped to their heads and an iguana (suggestions on a postcard).  Aww man, awesome. Seriously awsome. I just wish the room would stop pulsating.

I also have the horrible feeling I'm going to get rather violent soon and the plan is not working!

The Prestige

Just been to see The Prestige with George, Giles and Kathryn.  Brilliant film.  If you haven't heard about it it's got Hugh Jackman and Chrisitan Bale in it as rival Victorian magicians.  Micheal Cane is a man who makes magic tricks, David Bowie is Mr. Tesla (and very good at it he is too) and there are some other people in it who are also very good.  It's got more twists than a corkscrew and always keeps you guessing, though if you're on the ball you can work out some of what's going on.  It's rather good that way.  However it does explain everything by the end rather than leave it open, which annoyed some people.  Anyhoo, if you get the chance go see.

Tom aka Yoda aka Darth Yager aka Jesus' Party

  • Music: t.A.T.u - Gomenasai
Yesterday went to Tom's (friend and phycist) party.  Alcofest was going on at the Uni, so we went to a mates house to drink beer (or watch people drinking beer) and generally have a good time celebrating the fact that we all had Thursday off for various reasons and that the evil of Java was banished from our lives... for a few weeks.  Much merryment was had. Tom played a delightful rendition of Year 3000 by Busted, a masterful telling of Star Wars Epsiode 1 to the tune of American Pie and finished of with a jolly little song by the Pixies called Broken Face (viewable here, listen out for the quiet part).  Then general dossing about followed by a lovely walk home which was mainly making sure that Chris didn't vomit, slip in it, crack his head open and die.  Then slept over at there's cause my house is years away and there could be murderers, rapists or elf smugglers out there.

However due to the amount of time I spend at the house of WoW, and the fact that I've spent two nights there my flatmates all think I'm sleeping with one of the inmates... which is nice.

Internet's boned again

  • Mood: Bibley
"Behold" she quoth, "I hath fix that which the large man, the small woman and the devil box did bone. Twas an arduous and costly battle, but we did befriend the helpful one and did conquer our foes with joyousnessnessness."

Apparently ntl lost my account for a few hours. Where did it go? The pub!

AND LO! the lord did bestow upon them the internet and they saw that it was good.

Summary in short
Now doing Astrophysics, Observatory practicles fun but cold.
Thorpe Park - fun but ohh the syringes. Reminds me, Slamon owes me money
Hamster called toffee, hard to clean out
New housemates = funky
TOO MUCH WORK!
Java is slowly destroying my soul
Ahh, the wonders of soup.
PET scans are very boring.

If I think of anymore, shall relate later. In other news: the grand plan is not working. Why do the grand plans never work.

Internetless

Alas, the internet she does not work. Having to go on Uni computers (oh the beige horror of it all) and look up details for various interweb suppliers. Joy of joys. Should only take us a fortnite or so to get connected. I'm so thrilled.
